Why Earth Altars?
When we move our bodies and hands with the textures and shapes of the land, we can drop into strong presence and prayer that bridges the gap between self and other. After time, we enter into a fluid, flow-like state where the boundary between body and earth begins to merge. At this point, we are open to truly listen to what is not only moving through us - thoughts, feelings, sensations, but also, what is moving through the earth. This is a practice of listening and responding to without judgement. It can bring a deep sense of peace and ease, and be of support to move through any internal processes.
